Admiral Nimitz Museum

A display in the Admiral Nimitz MuseumOne of the most respected leaders of the Pacific campaign of World War II was Chester Nimitz, who was born in Fredericksburg, Texas. Located in the historic Nimitz Hotel on Main Street in downtown Fredericksburg, the Admiral Nimitz Museum is the natural link to the National Museum of the Pacific War.

Nimitz Museum highlights include: the Nimitz Family, Chester Nimitz from his birth in 1885 to his early childhood in the old Nimitz Hotel, Nimitz's appointment to the US Naval Academy, his role during World War II, and the years until his death in 1966. Don't miss the truly breathtaking fifteen-foot model of the carrier, Nimitz (CV-68).
