PACIFIC COMBAT ZONE

The Pacific Combat Zone is a unique three-acre indoor and outdoor exhibit area and living history venue that offers visitors a deeper understanding of the cruel struggle that took place between Allied and Japanese forces on the Islands of the Pacific. Guided tours, starting every hour on the hour between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., lead visitors through various combat locations of the Pacific War-- the hangar deck of an aircraft carrier with a TBM Avenger torpedo bomber, wings folded back, being readied for a strike; a South Pacific PT boat base with the world's only combat proven, restored, PT boat about to depart on a night mission; and finally an island battlefield, modeled on the Japanese defenses at Tarawa.
